Connie Elder is an accomplished women’s wear designer, skincare executive, QVC on-air personality and author. Connie has a special gift for helping women love the skin they are in. A career that has spanned the medical, skincare and fashion industries has allowed her to develop a vision for brands that enhance a woman’s lifestyle.
Connie has learned that most women want products that enrich their natural beauty and provide the very best quality at an affordable price. This knowledge, her past experience and living in Breckenridge, CO, have nurtured her newest skin care brand PEAK 10 SKIN™. The philosophy and quality behind the brand allows women of all ages to experience healthy, beautiful skin for the peak of life..
The success of LIPO IN A BOX shapewear was followed by two additional brands - UNDEROLOGY Skincare and GO2BRAS. All three brands developed by Connie have been sold on QVC, Amazon and through other retail outlets, since their introduction. In late 2012 these brands were sold, and now Connie’s one focus is the PEAK 10 SKIN™ brand.
Connie’s passion for helping women was honed through her relationship with QVC customers as an on-air spokesperson since 2002. What Connie heard from women is a desire for skin care products that will effectively impact daily issues of aging skin, dryness, rosacea, Sjogren’s syndrome, etc. She learned that most women want to feel confident in their own skin--healthy and vibrant skin. Most women understand that ‘aging is a gift and a blessing’ that not everyone gets to enjoy.
Connie is a strong contributor to the voice of women. She is a frequent speaker and authored MY STYLE, MY LIFE, in 2011. She is a passionate advocate for women’s safety and education. She is a survivor of domestic abuse and is an advocate for self-sufficiency for all victims of abuse. She encourages all women to remain hopeful, safe and to enjoy their LIFE!

Today Beyond Coastal continues to produce the healthiest sun screens in both our Natural and Active lines as shown by the Environmental Working Group (EWG.org) Beyond Coastal is one of only two brands tested out of 500 plus brands that got top rating by the EWG for both it’s Natural and their Active sunscreen formulas.

I was lucky enough to have lived in Paris, France for 16 years. Paris is the best city in the world, at least in my opinion! So much beauty, history, real enjoyment of life, attention to detail, and never a dull moment.
You can find beauty and calm in a quiet corner of a park or along the Seine; feasts for the eyes and nose in any of the wonderful outdoor markets (my local one was the fabulous rue Cler); appreciation of detail and craft; an understanding of wellness and balance; lots of dogs (my dear Tasha, a cocker spaniel, was with me then); fabulous restaurants of every kind; style in those beautiful French women; the most amazing museums (big and small); and international flair in the city.
I graduated from The American University of Paris (AUP), and was honored to have working papers that allowed me to stay on all for many years. The time went by in a flash!
I worked at AUP and at Parsons School of Design, Paris campus as Assistant Director. So many talented students and professors from every country imaginable, so much cultural understanding and diversity; so much travel and discovery.
I always encourage Americans to spend some time outside the US if they can, even if only for a semester abroad or a summer of living and traveling. Your attitude and point of view can shift and open up. Try to learn languages and engage with people. I actually back-packed around Europe for 3 months all those years ago on savings from high school jobs before starting college, to really see if I wanted to live and study in Europe. And I did!
Fast forward: When I decided to start up a skincare company, I knew I had to bring secrets I observed in Paris and Europe to Sublime Beauty, Sublime Naturals and ZEN BOX. I love the way French women age, more naturally yet with grand style – nothing
overdone.
However, I bring the old-school US approach to customer service: “Delight them with great customer service, and treat them as you want to be treated” – that is our customer service motto.
When I first returned from Europe in 1996, I actually launched into a commercial real estate career that became very robust and exciting (until 2008 when it seemed the whole world crashed), and I still take on a client or two per year though my
specialty niche is still not yet robust even today.
Some ask how I got from commercial real estate to wellness and skincare – my 1031 NNN niche essentially went away after the crash of 2008. I waited for a few years after the crash, thinking the dip would turn, but it has been much slower than anticipated. When it was clear things were not recovering, I decided it was time to do something that I was clearly interested in personally – healthy skin and wellness and quality of life. And most entrepreneurs realize, business is business. You apply the same principles and models to what you are doing, no matter the industry.
Because I have diverse companies and activities, it was suggested by a mentor to put together a website to pull the information
together under one roof, and voila!
I am intrigued by the monthly subscription box phenomenon, and knew that bringing Essential Oils to my clients would be a hit. ZEN BOX launched in February 2016. While I have used and studied Essential Oils for decades (including use in France), I decided to formalize it with a certification, now in progress. I am now writing a book about the joy and power of Essential Oils for wellness and balance now, and trademarked the phrase: Essential Oils Have Super Powers®.
My hubby and I live in Florida and enjoy the warmth year-round along with our pups.

After years of being totally selfless and taking care of everyone else's needs, (ok, that is my own humble opinion, but work with me here) my skin was peeling, dry, itchy and irritated. In 2005, at 43, I decided I was worth taking care of too. I discovered exfoliating products, but like the proverbial Goldilocks, none were completely satisfying my needs & wants. I decided to create my own and headed for the kitchen to play like a "mad chemist". I mixed up different combinations of botanical oils, which are great for skin, and loved my creations. It was not until I did extensive research, however, that I realized how lucky I was with the recipe I had created. I brought in my sister and we started ScrubzBody™ in 2006, in my home. We moved quickly to a renovated garage, and then opened our first manufacturing/store front, in Bethpage, NY in 2011. We have since moved to a much larger space, right in the heart of town. We love it here. All products are handcrafted in small batches. We host “Make your own Scrubz™” parties for kids of all ages. We sell retail and wholesale, with clients such as Whole Foods Markets.
I have been published and quoted in blogs, beauty magazines and various articles. I have had 2 Newsday articles written about my business and have contributed to many others. I was a panelist for the Newsday Connect Small Business Seminar, I was a guest for a natural remedy segment of the Dr. Oz show which aired on 10/24/14, as well as a food related segment which aired on 2/29/16. I received the Nassau County Legislature Trailblazer award for our charity work on 3/21/16. I am a proud member of Indie Business Network, American Made Matters, Bethpage Chamber of Commerce & Bethpage Kiwanis Club.
