Mr. Ashok Wahi is the Chief Inventor and CEO of Trutek Corp. a R&D and Product Development Company. He is the inventor of NasalGuard® patented technology for filtration of microscopic particles from entering nasal passages. He has acquired several patents in the US and internationally for this unique electrostatic topical gel that acts as a preventative method for the effects of breathing contaminated air.
Ashok was inspired to research and create this technology to aid his own daughter, Aikta, who suffers from allergies from cats. Since then, over twelve million units of NasalGuard products have been sold worldwide so far.
Prior to Trutek, he has been a senior consultant to Fortune 25 pharmaceutical companies, hospitals/medical facilities, and higher education institutions in the US for over 40 years. He has specialized in designing state-of-the-art R&D and high-tech laboratories.

Kanika Wahi is Co-Founder and Co-Inventor of newly patented enhanced formulation of NasalGuard technology a division of Trutek. Trutek is a privately held company which has developed innovative airborne contamination prevention medical devices, nasal particle blockers and skincare products.

We heard that your company, Xlear, has been conducting research with The Institute for Antiviral Research at Utah State University about COVID-19. Can you tell us more about the research?
You have started with this research at the beginning of the pandemic. What progress have you made since then?
Although you are an entrepreneur, you come from a medical family and your father is a medical doctor. We learned that he has recently published a book about COVID-19. It’s main premise is that we should wash our noses. Can you elaborate on that?
What trends have you seen in how people approach their health during pandemic?
What do you hope to see happen as we move into Fall?
Nathan was born in Kansas City and he spent his formative years in Idaho, in a small town where his father was the town doctor. Later, in a pursuit to provide needed support for the entire family of 14 kids, Nathan’s parents have made the decision to move to Michigan, Mexico City, where he spent most of his childhood. When he was 16 years old, the family made another move, this time to Utah which is also where Nathan graduated from high school. He attended college for a year, spent a year in active duty, and also went on a two year mission with his church. He moved back home in 1994 and started attending Utah Valley University. Later, he made a transition to Seattle where he attended school to become a commercial diver - he used skills form this education when he worked as a diver in oilfields in Louisiana between 1995 and 2000. Another transition occurred when he moved back to Utah and founded Xlear in 2000 where he has been ever since.

Tierney graduated with honors from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY with his Bachelors degree in Culinary Arts Management in 2010 but his culinary journey started long before that. At the age of thirteen, Tierney began volunteering his time washing dishes at a Sur La Table teaching kitchen in exchange for a chance to learn from the guest chefs the school brought in, ranging from Food Network stars to Martha Stewart. By fourteen he was assistant teaching the classes. During his tenure at Manhasset High School, Tierney spent his evenings and weekends assistant teaching culinary classes at a local Viking Range Cooking School. Tierney is a native to Long Island, New York and now resides in Bethlehem, PA.
