Taking charge of your medical records

Tuesday Jun 21, 2016

Beth Tofel, President of FootprintID that helps individuals manage and maintain the health and medical records of themselves and their family members joins eHealth Radio and the Health Care and Technology Channels. With FootprintID you have “always” access to your information. Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Beth Tofel discuss the following:Was there something in particular that inspired you to found FootprintID?Who can benefit the most from having their medical records at their fingertips? How does one benefit from having always access to their medical information and that of their family or loved ones? What is the biggest challenge for people in managing their health information? How can having your records assist in proper diagnosis and treatment? Summary: Make sure you always have access to Health Care Proxies, Living Wills, Power of Attorneys. They are often not with you when crisis strikes and some of the most important documents. They can assure that a person’s wishes are carried out, that a doctor has permission to speak with the parents of a college student, and that the proper individuals are called upon to make decisions. Duration: 12:48 FootprintID® puts your health information at your fingertips. Store and manage all of your medical records in one secure, easy-to-use online portal – and access them 24/7 from your phone, tablet or computer. FootprintID® also lets you share vital health information with family, caregivers, physicians and emergency responders, and coordinate your medical history across providers. Multitasking is a way of life for today’s parents. They are responsible for managing their careers and households as well as their family’s hectic schedules – not to mention their health and well being.  When it comes to healthcare, parents often struggle to keep track of their children’s medications, allergies and immunizations. They worry about a college-bound daughter managing her chronic health condition, or a son having a health emergency while they’re away on business. And they make countless calls to the pediatrician’s office to request copies of their children’s vaccination records. Growing older tends to come with growing health concerns. You may be visiting multiple doctors and pharmacies. Coping with a chronic condition. Or assuming the role of caregiver for a parent or spouse. If you’re like many seniors, keeping track of medications, test results, procedures, and contact information can be overwhelming. Organizing paper records is challenging and you rarely carry them with you. In an emergency, instant access to your health records can literally be a lifesaver.
