Gretchen Asher, CEO of BeFab Skin Care that formulates anti-aging skin care products for women over 40 joins eHealth Radio and the Anti-Aging & Skin Care Channels.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Gretchen Asher discuss the following:What is the dirty little secret of the skin care industry that women age 40+ need to know? How did you find out about this secret? Can you explain more about active ingredients and why they are important? What should women pay attention to regarding active ingredients? What can women do to educate themselves on what they need to look for in great anti-aging products?
Duration: 15:16
I have had a fantastic 20+ year career as an external consultant in corporate America; helping companies improve their business operations and understand how to exceed customer demands. My corporate career has led to the launch of my baby, BeFab Skin Care; formulating anti-aging skin care products for women age 40+. A few years ago I became disheartened by the disappointing skin care products as I noticed my skin begin to show the symptoms of peri-menopause/menopause. The loss of firmness, wrinkles, dullness. I tried several dermotologist-promoted brands without results.
I thought it was my aging skin. It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to work with a team of formulation chemists to produce my own products, did I learn the dirty little secret of the skin care industry…that most brands skimp on the active ingredients by adding only trace amounts.
I am committed to providing products with the RIGHT active ingredients in the RIGHT concentration. I won't skimp on the good stuff and I share the concentration information of the active ingredients in BeFab products. I also provide free skin care and menopause education via video, radio and written blogs. For 20% off your first order, use discount code eHRadio just before order completion.

Andrew Burki the CEO and Founder of Life of Purpose, the only substance use disorder treatment facility in the nation located on a college campus joins eHealth Radio and the Addiction Prevention and Health News Channels.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Andrew Burki discuss the following:Tell me a little bit about how you got into the addiction and treatment line of work? Can you tell me about Life of Purpose and the type of treatment programs you offer?I heard that Life of Purpose recently joined the MAP Recovery Network. Can you tell me about the network and how it benefits what Life of Purpose is doing? What can we do to bring more attention to this chronic disease? What advice would you give someone who is suffering from this disease or a family member trying to find help for their loved one?.
Duration: 25:08
Andrew Burki, MSW, founded Life of Purpose Treatment in Boca Raton, Florida in 2012 after enduring his own journey of addiction, failed treatment, and, since 2001, recovery. Andrew spent his late adolescence at a number of addiction treatment facilities, which encompassed various approaches to recovery from chemical dependency. Consequently, his substance abuse derailed his high school education.
Having highly-educated parents who studied at Harvard and MIT respectively, the interruption of Andrew’s education was a source of tremendous shame and distress for him and served as a barrier to ongoing recovery. After treatment episodes at multiple institutions, he arrived at a highly-regarded extended care facility in Boca Raton, Florida in 2001, a facility that provided him the clinical care necessary to produce a successful outcome.
Unfortunately, it was also there that his parents, then weary of their son’s many failed attempts to recover, were advised by a therapist not to support his college attendance until he was continuously clean and sober for five years, a commonly-held recommendation in the addiction treatment industry. Just shy of five years, however, Andrew’s parents encouraged him to return to school where he studied psychology and went on to receive a Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University.
Since that time, Andrew has spent his professional and academic career developing the Life of Purpose model, based on the philosophy that young people, need a reason to want to stay clean and sober. Higher education, more than any other environmental factor, helps produce this desire in that it fundamentally changes the way people in early recovery perceive themselves.
Andrew also serves on the Board of Directors for both The Delray Beach Drug Task Force and The Crossroads Club.

Anita Devlin, the author of the compelling new memoir entitled S.O.B.E.R: an acronym for Son of a Bitch Everything's Real, a gripping book that tells a story of addiction through the eyes of Anita and her son, Mike joins eHealth Radio and the Addiction Information & Health News Channels.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Anita Devlin discuss the following:Tell us all about your memoir S.O.B.E.R*: A Story of Addiction Told by a Mother and her Son- why you decided to write it, and what message you wish to share with the release of this book. It’s incredibly common, especially today in the midst of an epidemic, to hear about deaths and overdoses due to heroin, but what isn’t as common are the stories of how drug addiction affects the families. To what extent should a family be involved in recovery? How was Mike’s recovery affecting you? Did it make you sick at all? How was this journey ultimately YOUR recovery as well? It’s a well-known phrase among family members of addicts going through denial to say things like “not my son/daughter,” or “this can’t happen to us.” For you, it was more like, “don’t tell anyone.” What was your experience like of trying to maintain the perfect family image, and being fearful about admitting the truth that was going on with Mike?Addiction is a struggle that perhaps no one understands more so than those who have lived it, and those who have loved an addict. Where does your strength come from and how do you find ongoing support? How are you involved in the recovery community and with mothers of addicts today?Tell us about how Mike has changed, and how you have changed as a mother, in Mike's sobriety. What are some of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Duration: 17:38
Anita Devlin is the co-author of a compelling new memoir entitled S.O.B.E.R.*, an acronym for Son Of a Bitch Everything’s Real. In a phrase, that’s how Anita felt during the harrowing experience of helping her son navigate his addiction, which eventually led to his recovery. Her son & co-author, Michael Devlin Jr., has been sober for nearly five years.
S.O.B.E.R.* is uniquely written from two perspectives, simultaneously: Anita, grappling with the stigma of her son’s addiction, fearing for her son’s life and struggling to understand the disease of addiction; alongside Michael, suffering emotionally and physically while in the grips of the disease, and his empowering message of recovery after months in treatment. Theirs is a story of struggle, hope and faith that has been called by many “a family love story.” Addiction professionals have raved about the book, which aims to put real faces to the disease.
Anita is an addiction advocate for mothers, who have children suffering from addiction. Anita offers support and advice by speaking at parenting groups and treatment centers throughout New York and New England. She also makes the time to speak to any mom around the country who needs her support, aiming to make them understand that they are not alone. Anita’s message always includes that addiction is a family disease: the whole family needs to be in recovery/therapy in order for everyone to heal.
Anita was awarded the Woman of The Year award in 2013 by the National Association of Professional Women for her writing. Professionally, she has worked as a producer and casting director for more than 20 years and currently has four shows in development, one of which focuses on helping mothers of children suffering from addiction.
Anita lives in New York City with her husband, Michael.
