Dr. Douglas Dieterich is currently Professor of Medicine in the Division of Liver Diseases and also Director of Continuing Medical Education in the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY.
He has a triple appointment in the divisions of Liver Disease, Gastroenterology, and Infectious Diseases.
Douglas T. Dieterich graduated from Yale University in New Haven, CT and received his Doctorate of Medicine from New York University of Medicine in NY. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Bellevue Hospital Center in New York, NY where he was also a fellow in the Division of Gastroenterology. He became Clinical Assistant Professor of medicine and then a Clinical Professor of Medicine, both at the New York University. He remains as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Dieterich is an investigator for many ongoing clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of new antiviral treatments for chronic hepatitis B & C.
Dr. Dieterich is a member of many professional societies and is a fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology. He has served on several committees of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), including the Steering Committee of the Opportunistic Infections Core Committee and the Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Committee. He was Chair and Co-Chair, respectively, of the Enteric Parasites Committee and the Protozoan Committee. He also served on the NIH Study Sections for CMV and cryptosporidiosis.
Widely published, Dr. Dieterich is the author of numerous journal articles, abstracts and book chapters on viral hepatitis and AIDS associated infections of the gastrointestinal tract and liver.

Dr. Hedrick is a trained general, vascular, and plastic surgeon and former Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Paul J. MacKoul, MD, is board certified in gynecology and fellowship trained in gynecologic oncology. He is a specialist in the minimally invasive treatment of complex GYN conditions such as fibroids, ovarian masses and endometriosis, as well as early-stage GYN cancer.
Along with Natalya Danilyants, MD, he founded The Center for Innovative GYN Care®. Dr. MacKoul and Dr. Danilyants developed and perfected the DualPortGYN® and LAAM® surgical techniques performed at CIGC®. He has presented at major national meetings and been published in respected medical journals. He is frequently sought as a medical expert on techniques for minimally invasive removal of noncancerous, precancerous and cancerous tumors.
Dr. MacKoul has served as director of gynecologic laparoscopy at Holy Cross Hospital and as director of GYN oncology at George Washington University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center, as well as on the faculty of George Washington University Hospital. Dr. MacKoul graduated from medical school at Tufts University and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Maryland. His fellowship in gynecologic oncology was at the University of North Carolina. He was named a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Designated Surgeon in 2012.
Dr. MacKoul is CEO of Tower Surgical Partners, an ASC management company that oversees three surgery centers and four practice offices in Maryland, Virginia, New York and New Jersey.

Throughout the vaccine rollout, primary care physicians have been working hard to increase vaccine confidence, especially among people of color. Can you tell us about some of the concerns surrounding the COVID-19 vaccines that you have heard from patients?
I know that you and other Black physicians at PriMED did a lot of outreach work to increase vaccine confidence, specifically within the Black community in Dayton. What were some of the ways that you and your colleagues engaged with the community?
Of all of the phone calls and conversations you have had with patients, is there any one that sticks out the most?
What trends have you been seeing most recently with vaccine hesitancy?
President Joe Biden recently announced his plan to get 70% of Americans at least partially vaccinated by July 4. Do you feel positive about us reaching that goal?
Linda Odenigbo, MD, is a Pediatrician at PriMED Physicians in Dayton, Ohio. A graduate of University of Ilorin Medical School, Dr. Odenigbo trained and practiced internal medicine in Nigeria until 1991. She completed her Pediatric residency at Harlem Hospital New York and later worked at CHIC clinic, a federally funded health care center in Decatur, Illinois, before finally joining PriMED pediatrics in 2000. Dr. Odenigbo’s special interests include childhood allergic conditions, as well as female adolescent health issues.
