Personalized Nutrition: Finding Exactly What Nutrients Will Restore Your Health
Tuesday Jan 17, 2017
Tuesday Jan 17, 2017
Dr. Greg Tefft, the World’s Leading Expert in Personalized Nutrition & author of the internationally bestselling book Your Personal Life, Measuring What Your Body Needs to Live Lean, Long, Strong & Better joins eHealth Radio and the Health News and Nutrition Channels.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Dr. Greg Tefft discuss the following:
What really is personalized nutrition and why do you say in your book it’s not “You are what you eat” but that “You are what you retain?”
You say that you believe all disease is a matter of what we eat...Let me quote you here. “Experiencing the fastest healing process and the healthiest, fittest, longest life possible is totally based on a tug- of-war between what’s inside of you and what choices you are exposed to and make from the outside. Food is always the dominant variable.” Can you comment further on this.
Tell us about the testing program that you developed and perfected over the past 60 years? How does it work and what does it tell you about someone’s health... how is it different than other medical testing?
Dr. Greg Teftt, author of the internationally bestselling book Your Personal Life, Measuring What Your Body Needs to Live Lean, Long, Strong & Better, is a renowned board-certified naturopathic and chiropractic physician, three-time Natural Mr. America, former Olympic and U.S. Swim Team sports-med staff doctor, and well known drugless clinician to the stars at Malibu Health & Rehabilitation Center. He says that EVERY illness can be traced to what we put in our mouths. And the opposite holds true, every illness can be eliminated by putting the RIGHT foods in our mouths. Now that doesn’t mean eating the accepted standard “healthy diet,” or living on wheatgrass and kale. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. Because EVERY body is different -- which means that your health is a matter of what is nutritionally correct for your body only. You must give it the very nutrients that are lacking, while reducing the ones that are excessive. And the only way to accomplish this is to test using a lock of your hair instead of 1,000 blood tests as the basis for an exacting analysis. This ends the guesswork by you or your doctors. Why is using ONE lock of hair so vital as a biopsy specimen? Because it’s the same as taking twelve blood tests a day for three months. This approach eliminates daily errors in blood fluctuations and identifies long term mineral and related nutrient patterns that are more reliable for therapeutic intervention and permanent change. Urine and saliva do not measure up as saliva provides no reflection of nutrient status, while urine shows what is excreted, not assimilated by cells.
Furthermore, in his book, Dr.Tefft lays out why the health system is failing people today with standardized nutrition advice--and just how our genes and metabolic state predetermine what works for us and what doesn’t. According to Dr. Tefft, “Experiencing the fastest healing process and the healthiest, fittest, longest life possible is totally based on a tug-of-war between what’s inside of you and what nutrition choices you make as well as what you are exposed to from the outside environment. Food is always the dominant variable.”

INOCULATED - A Story of Darkness and Hope
Friday Jan 13, 2017
Friday Jan 13, 2017
Kent Heckenlively, a science teacher, attorney, and author, who wants the world to know about the CDC whistle-blower, Dr. William Thompson and it's all in is new book, INOCULATED: How Science Lost its Soul in Autism joins eHealth Radio and the Health News Channel.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Kent Heckenlively discuss the following:
Tell us why you decided to write this book.
Why is INOCULATED such an important book?
In your subtitle you use the phrase – “How Science Lost its Soul in Autism” – please explain what you mean?
You share some startling revelations in the first three chapters, can you talk about some of them?
What first brought this subject to your attention?
Kent Heckenlively is a science teacher, an attorney, and a founding contributing editor of Age of Autism. During his undergrad years at St. Mary’s College, Heckenlively worked for U.S. Senator Pete Wilson and was the school’s Rhodes Scholar candidate. In law school at Golden Gate University, he was a writer and editor of the school’s law review, spending his summers working for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Francisco. In the summer of 2010 and 2011, Heckenlively attended the Teacher Research Academy at Lawrence-Livermore National Laboratories, spending eight weeks in a virus lab investigating the expression of micro-RNAs in a monkey model of Ebola infection. Kent is also a member of the Compass group, a consortium of autism parents, leading scientists, and philanthropists in Silicon Valley looking for answers to neuro-immune diseases.Heckenlively served on the Executive Council of the San Ramon Valley Education Association for several years and was the Health and Safety Committee Chairman for the teacher’s union, representing more than 1,600 educators, therapists, and psychologists. In the fight against chronic diseases, Kent finds great wisdom in the strategy used by Nelson Mandela in South Africa. Mandela believed change could only come about when one engaged in satyagraha, a Buddhist concept which insists on speaking the absolute truth, while at the same time practicing ahimsa, a commitment not to harm those who might be your adversaries.
In November of 2014, Heckenlively published PLAGUE: One Scientist’s Intrepid Search for the Truth About Human Retroviruses, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases, with Dr. Judy Mikovits, a 20-year government scientist and former head of the Lab of Anti-Viral Drug Mechanisms at the National Cancer Institute. The book quickly became one of the best-selling virus books of the last 30 years and has garnered extensive praise from the patient community and leading physicians. His new book, INOCULATED: How Science Lost its Soul in Autism is even more explosive, detailing allegations by a senior CDC scientist of how the agency has covered up a link between vaccines and autism. The allegations of Dr. William Thompson are now under investigation by Congressman Jason Chaffetz's office and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.Kent and his wife Linda live in Northern California with their two children, Jacqueline and Ben.Fun fact: Kent played football for De La Salle High School whose Spartans had a 151-game winning streak from 1992 to 2003, a record unequaled by any American sport. This accomplishment is depicted in the 2014 film, When the Game Stands Tall, starring Jim Cazaviel and Laura Dern. Kent firmly believes that even though all this success happened after he stopped playing football for De La Salle it was “just a coincidence” and not a reflection of his athletic skills.
