In the early 90’s, Dr. Heppe was an instructor at Georgetown University Medical Center and Howard University in Washington, DC. During the past years, Dr. Heppe has traveled several times to Latin America on charity missions. He has given numerous presentations on topics of plastic surgery at medical conferences throughout the United States and Canada, and has published several articles. He keeps abreast of new techniques of cosmetic surgery, attending national meetings. Dr. Heppe is a member of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a diplomat of the National Medical Examiners. Dr. Heppe joined Plastic Surgery Services of Fredericksburg in 1991 and has privileges at Mary Washington Hospital, Stafford Hospital and Spotsylvania Regional. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as traveling and playing golf, tennis and skiing.
After training at Long Island Plastic Surgery Group, Dr. Bautista joined Plastic Surgery Services of Fredericksburg in 1993 and has privileges at Mary Washington Hospital, Stafford Hospital and Spotsylvania Regional. He is currently serving as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mary Washington Hospital. Dr. Bautista has served as a volunteer surgeon for Operation Smile and The Smile Train. He maintains proficiency in his specialty by maintaining active membership in, (ASAPS) The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and (ASPS) American Society of Plastic Surgeons. In his spare time, Dr. Bautista enjoys playing tennis, golf, dancing, and practicing yoga. He also holds a black belt in karate.

Joseph P. Hunstad always knew he’d be a surgeon. After completing his internship and residency in his home state of Michigan, his studies led him to Houston, TX where he attained a highly sought after fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at the MECOM Microsurgery Institute. Believing he discovered his specialty – burn repair surgery – he developed his gift while enjoying the intricacy and strenuous pace intensive care trauma presented. However, a rare invitation to perform a cleft lip operation and complex hand surgery from the Chief of the Burn Unit, a plastic surgeon, would introduce him to a new career in the innovative field of reconstructive plastic surgery.
Dr. Hunstad began his practice and watched it evolve rapidly as he welcomed more cosmetic plastic surgery patients. His determination, concern for patients and pursuit of excellence shaped him into an exceptional surgeon. It was his passion for finding solutions to challenging surgeries that led him to develop and publish several procedures while practicing. He began to lecture and demonstrate his new techniques to national audiences. Dr. Erika Sato is a Houston area plastic surgeon board certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Sato earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Missouri where she graduated Cum Laude from the Honors College. She attended medical school at the University of Missouri College of Medicine, where she received her Doctorate of Medicine and graduated in the top 25% of her class. She completed both her general surgery and plastic surgery training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world. She received multiple awards during her training from both faculty and peers including Resident of the Year as a junior resident and Chief Resident of the year for Memorial Hermann’s storied James “Red” Duke trauma service.
