Steve Hochman, entrepreneur and best-selling author of THE 3 joins eHealth Radio and the Health News and Nutrition Channels. He's also a coach whose programs have helped thousands lose weight, reverse diabetes in as little as 19 days, and finally take control of their health.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Steve Hochman discuss the following:
What exactly are “The 3 Rules,” and why do they work when diets fail?
Why do you say calories don’t matter as much as ingredients?
How does the glycemic index act like a “mine director” in today’s food industry?
How does using “The 3” improve confidence dramatically?
Can people really eat foods like pizza, nachos and brownies and still shred fat?
How did you go from homeless to the life you lead now?
From sleeping in his car to co-founding the world’s largest fitness boot camp franchise, Steve Hochman is living proof that rock bottom can be the start of something unstoppable.
Born to a con-artist father and battling Tourette’s syndrome as a kid, Steve learned early how to fight against the odds. In high school, while living out of his car, he became an All-American football player—but his real transformation came years later when his life completely unraveled.
At 287 pounds, homeless, and crippled by anxiety and high blood pressure, Steve hit his lowest point. Determined to rebuild, he created a simple, science-based method to shred fat and reclaim health—without counting calories or living in restriction. The system not only helped him lose 80 pounds—it sparked a global health movement that’s transforming lives worldwide.
Today, Steve is an international bestselling author, the creator of THE 3, and a coach whose programs have helped thousands lose weight, reverse diabetes in as little as 19 days, and finally take control of their health.
A husband, father of three, and former Division I athlete, Steve’s story is about more than fitness—it’s about resilience, redemption, and rewriting your legacy.

Dr. Maria Artunduaga, the CEO of Samay and the inventor of the Sylvee, an AI wearable microphone and monitor for patients with COPD, asthma, and other breathing conditions joins eHealth Radio and the Health News & Technology Channels.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Dr. Maria Artunduaga discuss the following:
For our listeners today who may be struggling with breathing conditions (or know someone who is), describe what you have invented, and how this could provide hope to someone struggling with COPD, asthma, or even long COVID?
As someone who has spoken with many people here in the U.S. who have COPD, what are the most common pain points you hear?
Thinking about expensive procedures like MRIs, CAT scans, and ultrasounds that exist today, what first gave you the idea to monitor the lungs with something as basic as a microphone?
Your device has an interesting name, the “Sylvee.” Can you tell us who inspired this name?
For anyone out there who’s wondering, “How can listeners get a Sylvee device?”
Lastly as someone raised in Colombia who now lives in the U.S., how do you stay true to your roots?
Dr. Maria Artunduaga is the CEO of Samay Health. A top 1% student in Colombia, her country of birth, Artunduaga relocated to the United States to pursue plastic surgery training, but abandoned it to dedicate herself to solve the problem that killed her grandmother, a lack of home technologies that can detect COPD exacerbations early. She has raised $5.4M, almost 60% in non-dilutive capital from NSF and NIH, to build the Sylvee, an AI wearable sensor named after her grandmother that can provide COPD patients with continuous data on pulmonary function similar to what continuous glucose monitoring sensors do for diabetic patients.
Artunduaga’s invention has been featured in numerous media outlets, including Forbes, TechCrunch, Bloomberg, FierceHealthcare and more. Prior to Samay, Artunduaga completed postdoctoral studies in Human Genetics at Harvard Medical School, started a plastic surgery residency at The University of Chicago, and completed two master's degrees, one in Global Public Health at the University of Washington and another in Translational Medicine at the University of California at Berkeley and San Francisco.
She lives in Mountain View, Calif. with her husband, her daughter, and four pets.

Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Dr. Stephanie Teotia discuss the following:
Many women feel their body and face have changed significantly during menopause. When a patient asks for a "Menopause Makeover," what is the most common concern she wants to solve, and what is your goal as a surgeon?

Beyond the physical change, what is the most significant emotional or mental shift you see in your patients after they complete their Menopause Makeover journey?
Dr. Stephanie Teotia is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Flower Mound, TX. In this episode, she’ll dive into the rise of the Menopause Makeover, the most common concerns women want to address, and how hormonal changes influence decisions between procedures like a facelift, tummy tuck, or liposuction. She’ll also explain what makes midlife body contouring different from the same surgeries performed on younger patients, especially when it comes to skin quality and how weight shifts during menopause.
Dr. Teotia will share the top lifestyle or health steps women should take before scheduling their makeover to support the best results and fastest recovery.
