Tuesday Feb 15, 2022
Tuesday Feb 15, 2022
Ken Rosenblood, the Founder and CEO of obVus Solutions, a wellness tech company that develops award-winning products to change behavior and condition healthy habits joins eHealth Radio and Health News and Technology Channels. Ken founded obVus Solutions after a successful career as an attorney and as a C-level executive in the healthcare and technology fields. Ken has a proven successful track record of pioneering multi-billion dollar platforms and developing products and devices in practice-based healthcare.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Ken Rosenblood discuss the following:
Please tell me about yourself and how you came to be here today.
What inspired you to start obVus Solutions and what does your company offer?
What exactly is the “pandemic within the pandemic”?
How can technology address these issues within the Healthcare community?
Why is a wearable device such as “minder a benefit to Healthcare workers?
In closing, what is the one wellness tip you would offer to our listeners?
Ken Rosenblood is founder and CEO of obVus Solutions, [pronounced “obvious”], a Los Angeles-based wellness tech company that develops user-friendly products to change behavior and condition healthy habits. Well-tech is the convergence of devices, tech and people. The obVus Solutions award-winning product line includes five-time patented minder,® a smart wearable that prompts proper breathing, posture and mindful breaks utilizing real-time biofeedback and certified health coaches; the minder Laptop Tower Stand, an ergonomically designed, height-adjustable that turns a laptop into sit/stand/desk; and the portable, folding Bluetooth minder® keyboard that serves as the portable companion to the minder Laptop Tower Stand.
As told to Authority Magazine in the 2020 article titled, “Getting an Upgrade: How Anyone Can Build Habits for Optimal Wellness, Performance and Focus,” Ken comes from a line of entrepreneurs, and was inspired to found obVus Solutions after a long successful career as an attorney and as a C-level executive in the healthcare and technology fields.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to build on those skill sets and apply them to the founding of my own company, obVus Solutions. The inspiration for this company came after being plagued with health issues, thanks to too many long hours behind a computer and sitting at a desk, where I didn’t give much priority to my posture, stress levels or breathing habits. Those behaviors took a severe toll on my health, eventually leading me to surgery followed by a long, painful recovery period. I knew there were many others, like me, who were experiencing the same. That inspired me to develop a range of ergonomically-designed wellness products that can help people work and live better” says Ken.
A 30-year technology and healthcare veteran, Ken has a proven successful track record of pioneering multi-billion dollar platforms and developing products and devices in practice-based healthcare. Ken has had multiple successful exits from previous ventures in recurring revenue, PaaS, SaaS businesses.
“As more consumers are tasked with finding ways to work and study remotely, obVus Solutions will lead the wellness journey by helping consumers build better habits, from practicing good posture and nutrition to the management of stress and other healthy behaviors,” says Ken.

Increase Your Productivity, Improve Your Health
Saturday Feb 12, 2022
Saturday Feb 12, 2022
Sophie Chiche, CEO of becurrent joins eHealth Radio and the Health and Personal Development Channels. Her company has developed a system that not only allows people to be more productive, but helps them decide the most important areas to which they should devote their time. She calls it “productivity with a purpose.”
Listen to host Eric Dye & guests Sophie Chiche discuss the following:
Being overwhelmed with tasks, whether work-related or personal, can take a toll on your health. What are some of the issues that can arise from an overloaded schedule?
Your becurrent system helps people achieve “productivity with a purpose.” How can that improve a person’s physical and mental well-being?
It isn’t just health per se that’s affected. Workplace stress also has been shown to lead to an increased risk of engaging in unhealthy behaviors, such as cigarette smoking, alcohol and drug abuse, and poor dietary patterns, is that correct?
One of the concepts of your becurrent system is learning how to say “no.” Although it’s a little word – and may take a little courage to use - tell us how it can improve people’s mental health and overall outlook in the long run.
While we used to admire people who could multitask, it’s a concept that is losing momentum. Focusing on too many things means you’re really focusing on nothing. How does feed into the cycle of damaging people’s mental and physical health?
An August 2017 study carried out by the University of California Riverside found that companies offering employee wellness programs saw a significant gain in productivity among workers. In fact, it was found that all employees who participated improved productivity an average of one full workday per month. You work with corporations quite a bit – if you look at your program as a form of “productivity wellness,” do you feel that becurrent can have similar results in terms of overall productivity and wellness?
TIP: It’s no mystery that people, in both the professional or personal settings, who aren’t as productive as they can be – or are overwhelmed by the volume of tasks on their plate – can suffer a range of maladies, both physical and mental. It can also lead to a number of destructive behaviors, as well as lowering a company’s overall productivity – and the bottom line. In the becurrent system, people are taught to prioritize tasks, to separate what needs to be done from what can wait, and to ditch projects or tasks that simply don’t need to be done at all. In doing so, people can focus more time on the things that matter, which – in both a professional and personal setting – creates happier and more productive people and employees.
Sophie Chiche is a life strategist, creative visionary, entrepreneur, author, TEDx speaker, and psychologist. She founded several highly successful companies, including becurrent, a system that helps people achieve “productivity with purpose”; Lifebyme.com, an inspiring online community dedicated to what and who holds meaning in our lives; and Shape House, an urban sweat lodge and second home to celebrities and health enthusiasts, that has achieved over $9 million in revenue. Sophie has also written and produced a TV show about issues around weight and her universal and personal struggles with food and eating, entitled War and Piece of Cake, with guests who speak of their issues and challenges; and has written several books, the most recent of which, Closer to My Bones, is due out soon.

Dr. Lara Goitein, MD, a Harvard trained physician specializing in intensive care and lung medicine joins eHealth Radio and the Healthcare and Health News Channels. Her professional interests include quality improvement in healthcare, end-of-life care, the training of new doctors, physician burnout, and improving communication with patients and families. Her new book is The ICU Guide for Families: Understanding Intensive Care and How You Can Support Your Loved One.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Dr. Lara Goitein discuss the following:
You worked as an ICU doctor for twelve years in several different hospitals. But in the past several years you’ve transitioned to practicing mostly in your other area of expertise, as a specialist in lung diseases, as well as in hospital quality improvement. Do you miss practicing ICU medicine? Did you like it?
Why did you write this book?
What are examples of some of the practical ways people can help their loved ones when they are admitted to the ICU?
Are there commonalities in the way family members cope with the stress of an ICU admission for a loved one?
As you point out, family members are often desperate for information about their loved one’s condition. But they sometimes find it difficult to know when and how to communicate with the doctors in the ICU. Do you have any advice?
How is ICU medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic different?
Family members are sometimes asked to make very tough decisions on behalf of patients who are not awake or otherwise able to make decisions on their own behalf. This includes decisions about withholding or withdrawing of life support. In your book you offer some suggestions for how to approach these decisions. Could you talk about that?
Lara Goitein, MD, is a Harvard trained physician specializing in intensive care and lung medicine. She founded a clinician-directed quality improvement program at a Santa Fe, New Mexico, hospital and is President-Elect of the Medical Staff.
Her professional interests include quality improvement in healthcare, end-of-life care, the training of new doctors, physician burnout, and improving communication with patients and families. She is an editorial board member and frequent writer for the medical journal JAMA Internal Medicine, and also writes in the lay press, including the New York Review of Books.
Her new book is The ICU Guide for Families: Understanding Intensive Care and How You Can Support Your Loved One (Rowman & Littlefield, Dec. 1, 2021).

Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Bianca D. McCall discuss the following:
Suicide prevention is an ongoing need in all demographics, but particularly with African Americans we have seen an uptick in suicides lately. Is this true and if so is there a root cause?
How has the current COVID-19 pandemic impacted suicide rates? Has it impacted people's ability to get help and services?
Why are services and resources so important in suicide prevention?
You have created a platform to help people who are experiencing mental health concerns and to combat the rise in suicides we are seeing in our communities. Can you tell us more about it?
What makes the Reach In Now app different than other mental health apps that we see in this space?
Bianca D. McCall is a renowned Subject Matter Expert in the Epidemiology of Human Behavior; with a specialization in suicide prevention. She is The Founder & CEO of Desert Rose Counseling Group, which recently celebrated its 10th year anniversary and is the first integrated behavioral health agency to offer suicide prevention programming, in Nevada State who ranks 7th in the nation for suicide rates. Additionally, in response to the pandemic, Bianca has also launched the Reach In Now University (RINU) © - an online platform for connecting with a socially-emotionally supportive community and learning mental fitness. The Reach In Now mobile application was launched in conjunction with RINU to provide a platform for healing for its users and to level the proverbial mental health playing field that has seen many people go without services and resources due to economic and societal disparities. And finally Desert Rose Gives, the nonprofit organization founded by Bianca was created to provide scholarships for members to access the Reach In Now mobile application and partner applications; as well as the ability to access services from a holistic provider network.
A retired women’s basketball player, Bianca has battled with a plethora of mental health conditions throughout most of her life to include anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress from childhood trauma, and even imposter syndrome that has manifested itself in many ways. But as a driven competitor, Bianca has utilized her experiences for the greater good of helping and motivating others.
