Dr. Mylaine Riobe, a Board-Certified Medical Doctor and specialist in traditional Chinese medicine and Integrative medicine of the Riobe Institute of Integrative Medicine in Stuart, Florida joins eHealth Radio and the Health News Channel.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Dr. Mylaine Riobe discuss the following:What is The Tao of Integrative Medicine about? Why is The Tao of Integrative Medicine relevant? What is Integrative Medicine according to the Riobe Institute of Integrative Medicine? Why is TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) so important in Integrative Medicine? How does this relate to the cancer moonshot?
Duration: 11:37
Did you know that for the first time in 200 years, our children are not expected to live as long as we do?
The reason for this is that our American medical system is based on the prevention of death rather than prevention of disease. 50% of Americans have life- shortening diseases by age 18.
Did you know that rates of cancer are expected to rise 42% by 2025? We spend more than the entire continent of Europe on cancer care and have over 700,000 more deaths per year than they do! Almost every American is touched by the epidemic of cancer.
The reason for this is that our American medical system is based on the prevention of death from cancer rather than prevention of cancer.
Dr. Riobe proves why early diagnosis of diseases such as cancer to prevent death is no longer acceptable. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Riobe has developed a ground-breaking integrative fusion technique that provides a dynamic approach that is effective, safe and prevents and treats diseases including cancer, by addressing their root causes.
Dr. Riobe's undergraduate studies were completed at Columbia University/Columbia College in NYC where she grew up. She obtained her medical degree at NY Medical College and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Medical College of Pennsylvania and the University of South Carolina. There she learned conventional medical practices that she used for four years following her graduation and board certification in OB/GYN. During this time, she grew frustrated with the cookie-cutter medicine that she learned. Although this form of medicine serves its purpose for acute, life-threatening conditions, she felt that her patients who suffered from chronic conditions such as fatigue, poor sleep, low sex drive, and overweight were often frustrated and incompletely treated.
Her close relationship with her grandmother, who introduced her to holistic healing methods as a child, planted her passion to treat her clients as a whole.
She set out to learn methods that evaluate and treat root causes rather than mask symptoms. This calling led her to study traditional Chinese medicine and integrative medicine over the following 8 years. She completed her studies at The Academy of Pain Research, a University of California, Irvine-affiliated institution; The University of Miami, and The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
She incorporates these disciplines into her practice to provide an integrative, customized approach combining leading-edge modern medical testing and technology with time-tested energy-based methods of traditional Chinese medicine.
In her upcoming books, The Tao of Integrative Medicine and The Answer to Cancer, she makes sense out to the chaos that is our current health crisis and sets a path to prevention of diseases such as cancer as practiced at The Riobe Institute. The Riobe Methods also provides effective treatment of chronic symptoms and conditions after they take hold.
She enjoys practicing what she preaches by living an active life of healthy eating, balanced lifestyle and exercise. As a woman and a mom, she knows first hand how we can all be consumed by a hectic lifestyle. That’s when it’s more important than ever to get on the path to prevention by obtaining your Annual Integrative Check-up.

Expert physician creates the new Pregnancy Power App – Pregnancy Power
Monday Aug 22, 2016
Monday Aug 22, 2016
Dr. James Betoni, board certified high risk maternal fetal medicine doctor and Founder/Creator of the new app, Pregnancy Power, from Boise, Idaho joins eHealth Radio and the Female Health and Pregnancy Channels.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Dr. James Betoni discuss the following:Tell us a bit more about yourself and your credentials for starters. Why did you decide to create the Pregnancy Power App? How is it different than any other pregnancy app that is out there?Did you develop this app to replace your published workbook due to the change in times and people using apps? What are your goals for this new app?
Duration: 7:44
Dr. Jim’s journey towards writing The Pregnancy Power Workbook began in 1967 when his mother gave birth to his little sister; who was born with Down syndrome. In an era when children with her condition were put into homes for special needs, his parents lovingly chose to parent and raise her in their home. As the five-year old big brother, young Jim soon became the family expert on chromosomes and learned that his sister had an extra one. His first hand experiences of living with and caring for his sister who suffered through many health conditions, played a major role in inspiring him to pursue a career in health care.
Through 20 years of refining his skills as an OB/GYN physician, he has come to recognize the vulnerability that many women experience during their pregnancies because of their lack of knowledge. Our medical system does not consistently allow adequate time for determining patients’ levels of understanding. As the co-author of The Pregnancy Power Workbook, he feels privileged to help create a meaningful pregnancy guide that changes the way women and their providers approach prenatal care. Rather than being thrown into a system that does not support their needs, women using this workbook will experience the reassuring and motivating power gleaned from real knowledge.
45 years after learning about his sister’s extra chromosome, Dr. Jim realized his dream. In 2010 he completed his fellowship subspecialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine. “Now I can better care for women with high-risk pregnancies, including those carrying a baby with Down syndrome, with compassion built from many years of personal experience.”
Dr. Jim enjoys his new practice with the University Perinatology Consultants in Colorado Springs where he lives with his wife, three active children, his mother, and his sister. When time allows, they all enjoy theater, dining, and traveling.

5 Time Olympian and Founder of Tootsies Brand, Jacqueline Edwards
Thursday Aug 11, 2016
Thursday Aug 11, 2016
Jacqueline Edwards, a 5-time Olympian and Stanford University graduate, who competed in the sport of Track and Field joins eHealth Radio and the Female Health and Pregnancy Channels. Jacqueline is the Founder of Tootsies Maternity Compression Socks, high quality compression socks designed to alleviate the discomfort of swollen legs and feet and all the associated side effects that women experience during and after pregnancy.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Jacqueline Edwards discuss the following:Tell us about your background if you would, I'm sure you have a lot to talk about.
Aside from pregnancy, what are some other reasons people may need compressions socks? What makes Tootsie compression socks different?Since you competed in the sport of Track and Field, will you be watching the Olympic Games in Rio?
Tootsies is the brainchild of Jacqueline Edwards, a 5-time Olympian and Stanford University graduate, who competed in the sport of Track and Field (long jump). As an athlete, for many years Jackie wore compression socks to help with recovery, blood circulation, muscle soreness and muscle tone. As a result, she was uniquely aware of their many benefits and actually cites compression socks as one of the reasons why she was able to have such longevity in her athletic career.
One day while in conversation with a pregnant friend whose feet were swollen and achy, she recommended that her friend try a pair of compression socks to alleviate her symptoms. Upon receiving feedback regarding the immediate impact and relief that her friend experienced, confirming that it was medically recommended for pregnancy and then realizing there was a space for it in the market, in an instant, the very original but much needed idea for Tootsies was born. She decided to create a fun, colorful and fashionable line of compression socks specifically branded for the maternity market.
Jackie was born in Jamaica and moved to The Bahamas at the age of 7. Her athletic career began there at the age of 11 and she earned a full scholarship to Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, where she was a 2-time NCAA champion. She graduated with a degree in Psychology. She also earned a Master's degree in Sport Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, CA. She is a NASM certified personal trainer and has a flourishing personal training business in Los Angeles.
Jackie went on to compete in 5 consecutive Olympic Games beginning in Barcelona in 1992 and ending in Beijing in 2008. She competed in a record 9 consecutive World Championships and was ranked as high as 5th in the World.
In 2008, Jackie was one of 7 people inducted into Stanford University's prestigious Athletic Hall of Fame. In 2003, she was named as L'Oreal Cosmetic's Face of a Generation, appearing in ads in Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Self, Allure and Lucky magazines. She is also a very powerful international motivational speaker who engages her audience through her athletic experiences. Jackie is extremely passionate and excited to have launched Tootsies Brand, LLC with her 2 business partners Dr. Ross Flowers and Mr. Chris Johnson. She is a healthy lifestyle advocate and so in addition to the sock line, she created Tootsies Fit Club, aimed at encouraging women everywhere to have healthy pregnancies by providing them with exercise and nutritional information. She hopes that by sharing her experiences in the athletic world, Tootsies will help moms and moms-to-be not only look good, but feel great!
