Thursday Jun 15, 2017
Christina Jordan, the owner of a thriving weight loss practice located in Gilbert, Arizona called Fit Body Weight Loss joins eHealth Radio and the Fitness, Health News & Nutrition Channels to share her inspiring story and how it doesn’t take just 21 days to change an eating habit.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Christina Jordan discuss the following:
You have quite the story on how you were able to lose weight, keep it off and inspire others to also follow a similar healthy path. What was your turning point where you said ‘okay enough’, I need to get healthy?
Tell us a bit about your approach to weight loss and your weight loss program.
Several try to lose weight and then stop or give up. What do you tell those whom don’t have the willpower to continue?
They say weight loss is an overall mindset and lifestyle change. Do you believe that and what do you think about these fad diets are on the marketplace today promising rapid weight loss in a month.
What are some of your weight loss tips for getting healthy and staying healthy this summer?
How about breaking unhealthy habits. You talk about it doesn’t just take 21 days to change a habit. Why is that?
Though you'd never guess it today, nine years ago Christina Jordan was 100+ pounds over weight, sick, tired and facing a diagnosis of life threatening illnesses. Her weight skyrocketed at 19 years old and by the time she was 22 she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and several other conditions that doctors warned could end her life. She'd hit rock bottom! Christina tried and failed to lose weight over and over again, spending hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars with nothing to show for it! In 2006, she tipped the scale at 247 pounds, heavier than, Mike Tyson, the once Heavy Weight Boxing Champion of the world! The hardest part was how she could not run and play with her three young sons due because her heart could not handle the stress.
For years Christina felt trapped by her weight. In one year, Christina took control of her health and shed over 113 pounds and 16 dress sizes. Her weight loss transformation was so dramatic that even her own family members did not recognize her. She has now kept the weight off for nearly 10 years and has easily maintained her weight with her healthy, balanced lifestyle. Motivated by her own struggle with her weight, Christina has gone onto earn her Masters in Nutrition and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Naturalpathic Medicine I order to help others in their weight loss journey.
Christina is carrying out her vision of transforming lives by working with her clients at her thriving weight loss practice, Fit Body Weight Loss, located in Gilbert, Arizona. Additionally, Christina is excited to have the honor to represent her home state as the new Mrs. Arizona Global Elite Earth USA for 2016-2017! She looks forward to an amazing year filled with many philanthropic adventures including raising awareness for families on the benefits of healthy eating and exercise.
Today Christina is 113 pounds lighter, 16 sizes slimmer and medical experts have acclaimed her as a “picture of perfect health”! She has easily maintained her healthy weight for nearly a decade, while raising her three sons with her husband, Derek. Working as a Master Nutritionist, pursuing her doctorate in Naturalpathic Medicine and serving as Mrs. Arizona. Christina is carrying out her vision of transforming lives by working with her clients at her thriving weight loss practice, Fit Body Weight Loss, located in Gilbert, Arizona. She also writes a successful blog and provides tips, healthy recipes and motivation for healthy living on social media.

Less Stress Family Meals
Sunday Jun 11, 2017
Sunday Jun 11, 2017
Regan Jones, Registered Dietician and Culinary Nutritionist with Cabot Creamery Cooperative joins eHealth Radio and the Health News and Nutrition Channels to share less stress family meal planning.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Regan Jones discuss the following:
Tell us about Cabot Creamery Cooperative, something listeners may not know.
What are some simple steps listeners can take toward less stressful family meals?
What are some kid friendly assignments listeners can give children to make them part of meal preparations?
What are a few healthy tips or substitutions to keep in mind when cooking?
If we are being honest, family dinners are nice, but don’t happen as often as most of us would like. What are some ways to make the time together count?
How would listeners learn more and get additional tips/healthy recipes?
When you believe in taste-first, it's clear to see why you'd be involved in the dairy world. After all, food experts around the globe know that great taste begins in the dairy case, right? And more to the point, Registered Dietitian Regan Jones learned early on in her career that great taste doesn’t have to mean foods that are bad for you. On the contrary, Regan has spent years seeking out foods and recipes that are healthy, nutritious and, equally important, taste great.Regan’s passion for cooking has translated into a profession of culinary-based nutrition pursuits: first in the test kitchen for Oxmoor House, and then as an Assistant Food Editor at Weight Watchers and Cooking Light magazines. Through her experiences as an Assistant Food Editor, Regan became increasingly involved and passionate about communicating trustworthy nutrition guidance to the public through the media - hence her pursuit as the Nutrition Communications Director at the Southeast Dairy Association from 2001 to 2005, and her former role as national spokesperson for the National Dairy Council.Today, Regan serves as a food and nutrition consultant to Cabot Creamery Cooperative, the farm-family owned cooperative best-known as “Makers of The World’s Best Cheddar.” As a wife and mother, Regan knows just how important it is to make sure her family makes healthy food choices. She is aware that it is not always easy to ignore deep-fried or sugar laden snacks, but she also knows that learning as much as possible about the importance of a sustained, healthy diet is a goal worth striving for. That is one lesson she learned early on in her career, and as Cabot’s Health Squad Champion, one that she wishes to share with as many people as possible.“I learned to cook at a very early age hanging onto the apron strings of my grandmother, a sweet southern lady who cooked every meal that made it to her table, from sun up to sun down in her tiny little kitchen, all from scratch,” says Regan. “She was the best cook I've ever known, and truly inspired my taste for all things good and good for you.

YOU-TURN: Changing Direction in Midlife
Wednesday Jun 07, 2017
Wednesday Jun 07, 2017
Dr. Nancy Irwin, a Los Angeles-based therapist and clinical hypnotist, & the author of the nonfiction YOU-TURN: Changing Direction in Midlife, a collection of “over 40 stories of people over 40” chronicles of successful transitions in people’s personal and or professional lives again joins eHealth Radio and the Personal Development Channel.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Dr. Nancy Irwin discuss the following:
What is a you-turn?
What made you want to change or take a detour in your life?
Was there any specific defining moment when it was blindingly clear what path you were to take?
Did you have any negative/limiting beliefs or obstacles to overcome?
How did you change your programming? How long did that take?
Did you have a support system?
What kept you going?
Would you do it over again if you had to?
What advice do you have for those considering making a transition in mid-life?
Any advice to others who are in that fearful stage?
Originally from Atlanta, where she trained as an opera singer, Dr. Nancy Irwin moved to New York City in 1985 to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian. She worked all over the country and abroad, and moved to L.A. in 1994 when she heard that Hollywood needed more blondes…Dr. Irwin experienced an epiphany when she began volunteer work for Children of the Night, a shelter for sexually abused children in Los Angeles. This work not only waked up the healer in her, but also allowed her to begin healing her own adolescent sexual abuse at the hand of a clergyman. It prompted her to pursue a doctorate in psychology, at the age of 44, and to specialize in the prevention and healing of child sexual abuse. She went on to write the non-fiction, YOU-TURN: CHANGING DIRECTION IN MIDLIFE, to inspire others that it is never too late to live a life you love. A pre-licensed psychologist and clinical therapeutic hypnotist, Dr. Irwin is in private practice in Los Angeles, is a primary therapist on staff at Seasons Recovery Center in Malibu and is also a busy public speaker. She’s a frequent media guest for a variety of psychological issues, including reinvention, having appeared on Anderson Cooper, The Doctors, and more. Dr. Irwin is a member of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association, the Southern California Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.You-Turn: Changing Direction in Midlife (Amazon, 2008) was her first book, and she is honored to be featured with Deepak Chopra and Kenneth Blanchard in ROADMAP TO SUCCESS (Amazon, 2011).
