Thursday Sep 29, 2016
Thursday Sep 29, 2016
Marc Hoberman, the author of Search and Seizure: Overcoming Illness and Adversity joins eHealth Radio and the Health News and Emotional Health Channels. Marc will share how he uses his memoir in his tutoring business and teaching of English.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Marc Hoberman discuss the following:What mindset does a person need to have in order to improve his or her health? How did you you deal with your diagnosis of epilepsy as a teenager? How have you improved your health over the years? What have you learned about the difference between emotional health and physical health? How does your memoir resonate with teens and parents alike?
Duration: 8:05
As an English teacher for more than 30 years and camp administrator and consultant for almost as long, Marc Hoberman has come to realize that children today need to learn how to deal with the often unexpected struggles in their lives. Marc wrote his memoir to help teens and their parents navigate through myriad issues that often confront them when they least expect it. Both mental and physical health are difficult to maintain at times, but a positive attitude and focus can help you make sure that your illness doesn’t’ define you.
Bullying, drug use, depression, and teen suicide have touched the lives of far too many young people; it’s important for them to see that there are ways to avoid the negative outcomes that some have experienced.
In Marc’s years in education, tutoring, and camp consulting, he was voted into Who’s Who in American Teachers and has been a featured speaker at the Young Adult Institute (YAI) Conference in New York City, the New York State and New Jersey Reading Conferences, the Tristate Camping Conference in New York and New Jersey, and The Canada Camping Conference.
As the owner of Grade Success Tutoring for over twenty years, Marc has helped many of his clients work through much more than just tests and academics. He has helped people who have experienced personal, physical, and emotional difficulties.

Connie Elder is an accomplished women’s wear designer, skincare executive, QVC on-air personality and author. Connie has a special gift for helping women love the skin they are in. A career that has spanned the medical, skincare and fashion industries has allowed her to develop a vision for brands that enhance a woman’s lifestyle.
Connie has learned that most women want products that enrich their natural beauty and provide the very best quality at an affordable price. This knowledge, her past experience and living in Breckenridge, CO, have nurtured her newest skin care brand PEAK 10 SKIN™. The philosophy and quality behind the brand allows women of all ages to experience healthy, beautiful skin for the peak of life..
The success of LIPO IN A BOX shapewear was followed by two additional brands - UNDEROLOGY Skincare and GO2BRAS. All three brands developed by Connie have been sold on QVC, Amazon and through other retail outlets, since their introduction. In late 2012 these brands were sold, and now Connie’s one focus is the PEAK 10 SKIN™ brand.
Connie’s passion for helping women was honed through her relationship with QVC customers as an on-air spokesperson since 2002. What Connie heard from women is a desire for skin care products that will effectively impact daily issues of aging skin, dryness, rosacea, Sjogren’s syndrome, etc. She learned that most women want to feel confident in their own skin--healthy and vibrant skin. Most women understand that ‘aging is a gift and a blessing’ that not everyone gets to enjoy.
Connie is a strong contributor to the voice of women. She is a frequent speaker and authored MY STYLE, MY LIFE, in 2011. She is a passionate advocate for women’s safety and education. She is a survivor of domestic abuse and is an advocate for self-sufficiency for all victims of abuse. She encourages all women to remain hopeful, safe and to enjoy their LIFE!

Did you know that for the first time in 200 years, our children are not expected to live as long as we do?
The reason for this is that our American medical system is based on the prevention of death rather than prevention of disease. 50% of Americans have life- shortening diseases by age 18.
Did you know that rates of cancer are expected to rise 42% by 2025? We spend more than the entire continent of Europe on cancer care and have over 700,000 more deaths per year than they do! Almost every American is touched by the epidemic of cancer.
The reason for this is that our American medical system is based on the prevention of death from cancer rather than prevention of cancer.
Dr. Riobe proves why early diagnosis of diseases such as cancer to prevent death is no longer acceptable. With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Riobe has developed a ground-breaking integrative fusion technique that provides a dynamic approach that is effective, safe and prevents and treats diseases including cancer, by addressing their root causes.
Dr. Riobe's undergraduate studies were completed at Columbia University/Columbia College in NYC where she grew up. She obtained her medical degree at NY Medical College and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Medical College of Pennsylvania and the University of South Carolina. There she learned conventional medical practices that she used for four years following her graduation and board certification in OB/GYN. During this time, she grew frustrated with the cookie-cutter medicine that she learned. Although this form of medicine serves its purpose for acute, life-threatening conditions, she felt that her patients who suffered from chronic conditions such as fatigue, poor sleep, low sex drive, and overweight were often frustrated and incompletely treated.
Her close relationship with her grandmother, who introduced her to holistic healing methods as a child, planted her passion to treat her clients as a whole.
She set out to learn methods that evaluate and treat root causes rather than mask symptoms. This calling led her to study traditional Chinese medicine and integrative medicine over the following 8 years. She completed her studies at The Academy of Pain Research, a University of California, Irvine-affiliated institution; The University of Miami, and The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
She incorporates these disciplines into her practice to provide an integrative, customized approach combining leading-edge modern medical testing and technology with time-tested energy-based methods of traditional Chinese medicine.
In her upcoming books, The Tao of Integrative Medicine and The Answer to Cancer, she makes sense out to the chaos that is our current health crisis and sets a path to prevention of diseases such as cancer as practiced at The Riobe Institute. The Riobe Methods also provides effective treatment of chronic symptoms and conditions after they take hold.
She enjoys practicing what she preaches by living an active life of healthy eating, balanced lifestyle and exercise. As a woman and a mom, she knows first hand how we can all be consumed by a hectic lifestyle. That’s when it’s more important than ever to get on the path to prevention by obtaining your Annual Integrative Check-up.
