NeuEve: Natural Remedy for Vaginal Atrophy and BV
Tuesday Oct 10, 2017
Tuesday Oct 10, 2017
Dr. Renjie Chang, Founder of NeuEve, a source for vaginal suppositories and cream promoting natural sexual wellness joins eHealth Radio and the Female Health & Sexual Health Channels.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Dr. Renjie Chang discuss the following:
What are the major gaps in women's healthcare today, and is that what inspired you to create NeuEve?
What is NeuEve and how does it work?
For vaginal atrophy, how does NeuEve compare to estrogen?
For bacterial vaginosis, how does NeuEve compare to boric acid, douching, or antibiotics?
I heard that breast cancer survivors and hysterectomy patients love NeuEve. Why is that?
Summary: NeuEve provides a non-hormonal remedy for vaginal atrophy and dryness, better than regular vaginal moisturizers and lubes. After menopause, sex can become difficult due to vaginal atrophy. Estrogen supplements help, but estrogen greatly increases cancer risk. NeuEve also clears bacterial vaginosis (BV) effectively and naturally. Current BV treatments often lead to recurrent BV, but NeuEve, in taking an alternative and more holistic, caring approach, breaks the cycle.
Renjie Chang, M.D., M.S. graduated from Peking Union Medical University, the most prestigious medical school in China. Seeing patients in clinic firsthand, she always practiced medicine with a focus on both hard science and a soft bedside manner. In the US, she worked as a faculty member of OB-GYN at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and as a drug developer at the Abbott Laboratories in Chicago. At Abbott, she learned the vital skills of inventing and creating medicine. It’s a very different skill set than simply prescribing medicine. After she left Abbott, she won grants from NIH and Gates Foundation for developing a new way to prevent the sexual transmission of HIV. It was while performing this research that she was inspired to create NeuEve. For Dr. Chang, NeuEve has been the culmination of a lifetime of learning and experience.

Dana Dinerman, a breast cancer thriver & Owner of Hulabelle, a brand which helps research products for women, in particular, breast cancer survivors, and also has in the recent past created swimwear and other types of clothing to help women who may seek more coverage after having surgery from a breast cancer diagnosis joins eHealth Radio and the Cancer Information and Health News Channels.
Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Dana Dinerman discuss the following:
After being diagnosed with breast cancer, did you 100% rely on your doctors?
When did you realize that you needed to be researching your own path?
Do you listen to the statistics from the doctors for your life expectancy?
What examples do you have that show your own decisions might have saved your own life?
Advice/Tip: Always be your own advocate, have faith put control in God's hands and be sure to listen to your doctors but also be sure to do your homework. The doctors want to help but they are not living in your body or walking out the door in your life.
In 2011, I was 34, with a one-year-old son, when I was diagnosed with stage III intraductal carcinoma. The original tumor was only 2cm long, and had reached the majority of my lymph nodes under my right arm. It was a shock, because I have no family history except for a great-aunt on my mother’s side of the family. I was told her story does not count toward my diagnosis, but I feel in some ways it does.
I was a stay-at-home mom, having given up a teaching position at a local high school. While my son was napping, I was trying to wrap my head around the fact that I had cancer. I had this urge to run away, not wanting to look my son in the eyes and say his mommy had cancer.
The day I spoke with doctors about my mastectomy, we drove home feeling drained. I looked out my window and saw a parade of pink as we were driving up our street. I remembered instantly that was the day Susan G. Komen 3-Day walkers made their trek by our house. I got out of the car and ran out into the street flagging down some of the walkers. I remember breathlessly telling them that I was just diagnosed with breast cancer. The moment the words came out of my mouth a group of them wrapped me up into a large hug. They held onto me and allowed me to cry. A couple of them shared their stories with me. Hearing the stories from these ladies gave me some hope.
Needless to say the journey after that was tough. I had to endure six months of the toughest chemo regime that could be given. I remember lying down next to my son’s crib each night asking God to give me five more years so I can see my son go to kindergarten. I did not want to leave my child without a mother.
I was able to take a break before my radiation therapy, and my husband decided to plan a tropical vacation to Hawaii. While shopping for swimsuits, I remember walking into a local boutique and realizing that I could not fit into any of the swimsuits that were available. Before my mastectomy I was able to shop and find something fairly easily. I searched online for swimsuits for women who have had mastectomies. Unfortunately, they were not well designed and were made with poor-quality fabrics. I knew something needed to be done.
I continued to feel uncertain about my cancer diagnosis, constantly worried about it returning. That fall, I faced my first recurrence. My son was two years old at the time, and I knew I needed to be aggressive with my treatment. After many rounds of radiation therapy, I was able to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and walked out the doctor’s office feeling as though a new chapter had begun.
The next three years would be centered on building my swimwear brand, Hulabelle Swimwear. The idea is to give women – like myself – more quality choices when it comes to swimwear.
I would learn how to source material, talk with vendors and crunch numbers. It would take up time that I would normally use to worry about another recurrence. I had the opportunity to meet amazing people while showing the line, and participated in various charities and fundraisers. It was truly a year of growth, until the end of summer when I faced another recurrence.

Can you explain to our audience: what are uterine fibroids?
How common are fibroids, and what are the symptoms?
How do fibroids affect a woman’s fertility?
What are the most common treatments for fibroids, and what are the pros/cons of each?
Are there any new, less-invasive treatments that help women preserve their fertility options?
Suzanne LeBlang, MD, is a neuroradiologist and an early adopter of MR-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) who has used the technology to treat patients for more than 10 years. She has also participated in several worldwide focused ultrasound clinical trials for fibroids and a clinical trial for patients with painful bone metastases.Dr. LeBlang serves on the faculty at the University of Miami Medical School where she is the Radiology Clinical Coordinator for the 3rd year M.D./M.P.H. students, and she teaches at the Florida Atlantic University Schmidt College of Medicine. Michele Chevalley Hedge and Simone Kopkas from A Healthy View based in Sydney joins eHealth Radio and the Female Health, Health News & Nutrition Channels. A Healthy View is a nutrition & wellbeing business with a clinical practice, 1000s of patients, with a radio talk show, appearances on tv, brand ambassadors, and professional wellness speakers.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guests Michele Chevalley Hedge and Simone Kopkas discuss the following:
What makes your program different to others out there?
What should someone expect from the program?
Why is food so important to fertility and pregnancy?
What is your favourite thing about the program?
Who would you say should be doing this program?
Michele Chevalley Hedge is a Nutritionist, Health Writer and Presenter. There may be many wellness practitioners stepping into the space of health and food but there are not many Nutritionists that come from the corporate, busy background, have three kids and really understands the modern requirements for health, happy hormones, a firing libido and vitality.
Due to Michele’s former role as a Marketing Manager she truly understands the needs of a busy, time poor corporate executive who wants health but not hassle. She is often introduced by the editors of health magazines as “the modern day nutritionist – the one who likes a bit of wine and coffee.” She is not Paleo Pete or I Quit Sugar but perfectly placed somewhere in the healthy middle.
Michele’s clinical practice experience allow her to share stories of patients and their nutritional transformation that gives the audience goose bumps – the kinds of stories that can only be heard if you are at the ‘coal face’ with clients. Women who say their addiction to food caused their divorce, executives who say they don’t like going to the boardroom without her five top tips, and politicians and their families who come to her wellness retreats. Wiley Publishing commissioned Michele to write Beating Sugar Addictions for Dummies two years ago. When she asked why they chose her, Wiley replied because of her evidence based research skills, ability to take a medical issue and turn it into simple concepts, use of humour around delicate matters, tv presenting on the World Health Organisation new recommendation of sugar, and Sarah Wilson, I Quit Sugar, recommend her!
When Michele is not out speaking, writing or seeing patients, she can often be found at her cafe, The Balmoral Boatshed. It is the perfect spot for filming, interviewing, or just enjoying a glass of wine (which she can tell you ways it will reduce your cortisol and lead to a calmer, happier and perhaps leaner person)! Michele is the Nature Care College Ambassador and Accor Group Nutritionist and recently sat alongside the Dalai Lama at a conference where she presented on ‘Vitality, Energy and Serotonin – It’s all in Your Food’. Mental health and nutrition research is her passion and she often declares “It makes the New Yorker come out in her.”
Michele loves to write, so along with her blog and social media, she writes often for Body & Soul, Huffington Post, Mama Mia, The Glow, Prevention, Wellbeing, Clean, Cosmo, MindFood and many more. Her second book, ‘Hormone Help- reset your weight, mood, libido & energy in 4 weeks’ will be out at the end of this year. Michele often appears on The Sunrise Show to discuss the WHO’s (World Health Organisation’s) nutrition recommendation on cancer and sugar.
Michele’s business, A Healthy View, expanded to New York and the US last year with the addition of her online programs.
