Amanda Gorecki, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, is the founder of Healing Waters and Pure MD® Skin Science. She has a BSN from Seattle Pacific University and a MSN from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She trained at Harbor View Medical Center and Duke University where she worked as an emergency room nurse and nurse practitioner for the Department of Neurosurgery before venturing into private business. Enterprising Women Magazine named Gorecki Enterprising Woman of the Year in 2014. She is an Atlanta member of the WPO (Women’s Presidents Organization) Chapter 1, has received the Champions of Respect Award from the YWCA Women’s Shelter, has been nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and was named one of the 40 Under 40 by the Wichita Business Journal.
Gorecki founded Healing Waters in 2002, which has been named twice as the Best Medical Spa in the Country, and is a recipient of numerous local awards for Best Spa, Best Massage, and more. Healing Waters offers traditional spa treatments; aesthetic procedures such as Botox and dermal fillers; plastic surgery procedures including breast augmentation and reconstruction, liposuction, and more; and wellness programs designed to improve diet, exercise, hormonal imbalance, and lifestyle habits. There are currently two Healing Waters locations, in Wichita, Kansas and Durham, North Carolina. A new location will be opening in Columbia, South Carolina in 2014. The South Carolina spa will be located within the region’s newest hospital, Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge, the largest and most comprehensive health care system in the Midlands region of South Carolina.
In 2007, Gorecki pursued one of her greatest passions by developing the proprietary skin care line, Pure MD® Skin Science. Pure MD® addresses concerns of aging-skin, acne, rosacea and more by combining the best ingredients from both nature and science. All Healing Waters spas offer customized Pure MD® facials and retail products. In 2011, Pure MD® launched an e-commerce site at www.pureMD.com. Gorecki is regarded as an expert on skin care ingredients and has lectured nationally on cosmeceuticals at various women’s conferences nationwide.
Gorecki continues to dedicate her time to the development and expansion of both Healing Waters and Pure MD®, with a focus on growing the company’s mission of inspiring transformational change in the lives of others. Under this umbrella, Healing Waters has created the Transformational Principles – Calm, Balance, Correct and Restore – to guide its team in their relationships with guests and patients, the community, and one another.
