Drs. Velargo & Hendrick Go In-Depth About Transgender Plastic Surgery

Dr. Parker Velargo is a double board-certified, fellowship trained Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. Dr. Velargo is a specialist in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, nose, eyelids, ears, and neck. In addition, Dr. Velargo has extensive experience in non-surgical treatments of the face and neck, including injectables and laser therapy.
Dr. Velargo graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana State University and attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he graduated in the top quartile of his medical school class.
Dr. Velargo is an internationally published expert that has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. He also serves on several committees of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has been a presenter at numerous national meetings on topics related to facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Russell Hendrick is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the body, as well as surgeries of the hand and wrist. With his extensive training, Dr. Hendrick prides himself on being able to focus his expertise on these areas to address the patient’s specific needs. His philosophy on patient care is centered on taking the time to truly listen to his patients and their concerns and develop a treatment plan specifically tailored to the individual.
Dr. Hendrick attended the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he received both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Natural Sciences degrees. He then attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. During his senior year, Dr. Hendrick was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for his academic achievements. In addition, Dr. Hendrick received the Norma C. Ragland Award, which recognized him as one of the top four medical students in his graduating class.
