Alex Barrow, DPT, a senior clinician at AposHealth, who assists patients in gaining mobility and acquiring functional independence in the long term through customized physical therapy solutions joins eHealth Radio and the Health News & Physical Therapy Channels.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Alex Barrow discuss the following:
- What is one typical misconception individuals have regarding dizziness or balance—and how can they manage those symptoms on a daily basis?
- You've learned posture and pain interaction—what is a small adjustment a person can make to his or her posture that normally alleviates pain or prevents it?
- How do you manage someone with pain that isn't visible on imaging or tests? What does that reveal about how the mind and body work in physical therapy?
- With AposHealth, you're assisting individuals toward long-term functional independence—what are the two everyday movement patterns that have the greatest impact in the long term?
- For the person with a sedentary occupation or sedentary lifestyle, what would you suggest to help safeguard their back and mobility?
Alex Barrow, DPT, earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Ithaca College through their six-year accelerated program before completing clinical rotations at Kessler Rehabilitation Center. He began his work at Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers by using his knowledge of gait, balance, and mobility to focus on Vestibular and Neurological rehabilitation. At The Well Effect Company in Bedford, MA, Alex expanded his practice to include whole-person wellness by studying lumbar spine mechanics, posture, and pain and motion interaction. As a lead clinician at AposHealth, he uses his knowledge to help patients achieve long-term functional independence.
