Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Dr. Anuj Tolia discuss the following:
Can you describe in your own words how the Calcium Scoring works?
Should people with a family history of heart attacks, stroke and other conditions consider doing this scan?
Research shows stress is a killer - so does it make sense to recommend this to people who are in high stress careers, such as EMT staff, ER staff, Police, fire fighters, etc?
What about radiation - is this high or low - and what does that mean?
Do you need a prescription?
Cost is inexpensive, correct? I heard it was around $99.

Unraveling the Mystery of AED Ownership Laws
Tuesday Oct 17, 2017
Tuesday Oct 17, 2017
Sara Henn, Customer Care Coordinator with AED Superstore, the world’s largest distributor of automated external defibrillators joins eHealth Radio and the Heart Health, Emergency Care & Health News Channels to discuss unraveling the mystery of AED Ownership Laws.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Sara Henn discuss the following:
We have been hearing a lot about automated external defib-rillators recently and they seem to be popping up in more and more public places, but I have heard there are some who are concerned about buying an AED because each state has laws governing AED ownership, and they are all a little different. What can you tell us about that?
Let’s talk about each of those components - the first one you mentioned was oversight by a physician - what, exactly, does that mean? Do I have to have a doctor come in and check my AED?
You mentioned training. Is this just training on the AED itself? And are the people who are formally trained the only ones who should use the device?
So notification of emergency medical services - this is your local 911 center, right? Should you need to let them know you have an AED?
So the last thing you mentioned is maintenance - I am assuming this is maintenance of the device itself?
It sounds like there could be a lot to remember with regard to AED laws - do you have any recommendations to make life easier for our listeners?
Sara Henn is proud to be a part of Allied 100, LLC. She has been with the company for 10 years and her current role is Customer Care Coordinator. Her primary function is to train and inform the customer care team.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest and the Chain of Survival
Sunday Feb 26, 2017
Sunday Feb 26, 2017
Cindy Dunbar, Director of Customer Care, with AED Superstore, the world’s largest distributor of automated external defibrillators joins eHealth Radio and the Heart Health, Emergency Care & Health News Channels to discuss sudden cardiac arrest and the chain of survival.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels and guest Cindy Dunbar discuss the following:
When it comes to sudden cardiac arrest, there has been a lot of talk about the Chain of Survival. Let’s talk about that today. What is the chain of survival and what are each of the links?
So obviously calling 911 is at the first step because you want to get EMS on the way so you can get to the fourth link, right?
The next link in the chain is early CPR. Not just CPR, but early CPR. Why is that?
So if early CPR is important, than early defibrillation must be just as important?
Next in the chain is EMS arrival - and that must be a great relief for the rescuer!
What/Which is advanced hospital care?
For almost 20 years, Cindy Dunbar has worked in the retail industry in one capacity or another. Managing retail stores, Purchasing Manager for a small group of stores, owning a retail store and then working the other side of sales by being the Midwest Upper Regional Sales Manager for Cornell Trading, Inc. Being involved in sales from all different perspectives provided her the experience and knowledge that has helped her in Customer Service for AED Superstore since 2007.
Starting as a Customer Service Representative she learned all different aspects of the business itself and the nuances of the AED industry. Over the years she worked her way up to Customer Service Manager, Business Development Manager and is now the Director of Customer Care. As the Director she oversees every aspect of quality provided to all customers. She is responsible for the success of each Customer Care Representative and the overall sales of that department.

AEDs and the Liability Myth
Thursday Feb 16, 2017
Thursday Feb 16, 2017
Eileen Swierczsynki, marketing manager for AED Superstore, the world’s largest distributor of automated external defibrillators joins eHealth Radio and the Heart Health, Emergency Care & Health News Channels to discuss AED's & the liability myth.
Listen to interview with host Eric Michaels & guest Eileen Swierczsynki discuss the following:
Today we are talking about Automated External De-fib-rillators - also called AEDs - and the questions some may have regarding what, if any, liability risks are involved in owning one of these life-saving devices. First let’s talk a little bit about what, exactly, AEDs are.
So if AEDs are so important to survival for someone in sudden cardiac arrest, why aren’t there more AEDs around? I mean, I usually see them in airports, malls and schools, but why aren’t they everywhere?
I have to admit, that does seem intimidating, and I can’t blame them for feeling that way. But you say there really is no reason to worry about litigation - why is that?
So what is your recommendation with regard to AEDs? Is it worth the risk?
Eileen Swierczynski is the Marketing Manager for AED Superstore and, as such, has spent the last year learning as much as she possibly can about sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), automated external defibrillators, and the heart. She has a passion for spreading awareness of SCA so more lives can be saved and encourages everyone to take a CPR/AED class because you never know when you will need it.
